The Swiss Wellness Cycling Team (SWCT) is a South Australian based team that competes at a local State based level, as well as in the Victorian Road Series (VRS), National Road Series (NRS) and in UCI sanctioned races in Asia and Oceania.
The Team provides opportunities to U19, U23, elite and aspiring elite riders to compete at the pinnacle of competitive cycling in Australia. Our focus is to enable young riders to reach their fullest potential on and off the bike – to be the best they can be.
SWCT was originally formed in 2012 under another name and title sponsor with the basic aim of providing aspiring road cyclists in South Australia who were not part of the South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) program with an opportunity to race in a supported team environment both locally and interstate as a pathway to the NRS and beyond.
In 2014, we welcomed SwissWellness Natural Health & Beauty Spa and SwissWellness Natural Skincare on board as naming sponsors, ethically based businesses that share the same philosophy of helping aspiring young athletes and a passion for the sport of cycling. This partnership has enabled the team to build a solid foundation and plan for the future, which in turn has helped secure a range of highly valued sponsors such as BMC Switzerland, our exclusive bike supplier, an exciting development for a young team.
In 2016, SWCT is excited to bring on board new sponsors and new riders and has traveled overseas for the team’s first ever participation in UCI level racing, competing with some distinction at the fifth International Tour of Banyuwangi Ijen and the inaugural edition of the Tour de Flores.
As the SWCT continues to strive to establish itself as a respected and integral part of Australian competitive road cycling at the highest level we are truly grateful for the strong support of our sponsors and fans and for the opportunity to race against the best riders in Oceania and Asia.
